Getting Started in Stellar Blade: Defeating Abaddon

Written by PSX Network Staff

Abaddon is one of the first major bosses you’ll face in Stellar Blade. While he isn’t the toughest enemy in the game, learning his attack patterns early will prepare you for the more challenging Naytiba encounters ahead. This guide covers Abaddon’s attacks, weaknesses, and the best strategy to defeat him.

Boss Overview

  • Location: Eidos 7
  • Boss Type: Naytiba
  • Recommended Level: Early Game

Prepare Before the Fight

Before entering the arena, make sure you’ve done the following:

  • Carry several Healing Potions.
  • Unlock a few Beta Skills if available.
  • Practice Perfect Dodges and Parries on normal enemies.
  • Equip your best available gear.

Abaddon’s Weakness

Abaddon has no elemental weakness, but he is vulnerable after many of his heavy attacks. Successfully parrying or dodging these attacks creates excellent opportunities to deal significant damage.

Abaddon’s Attack Patterns

Claw Combo

Abaddon performs several quick melee swipes.

Counter: Parry each strike or dodge backward after the second attack.

Jump Slam

The boss leaps into the air before crashing down.

Counter: Dodge at the last possible moment to avoid the impact and immediately counterattack.

Charging Lunge

Abaddon rushes straight toward Eve.

Counter: Sidestep with a Perfect Dodge and punish from behind.

Area Shockwave

Later in the battle, Abaddon slams the ground, creating an area attack.

Counter: Move away quickly or dodge through the shockwave if timed correctly.

Best Strategy

  1. Stay close enough to bait melee attacks.
  2. Focus on Perfect Parries whenever possible.
  3. Use Beta Skills after a successful stagger.
  4. Avoid becoming greedy with long attack strings.
  5. Heal only after creating distance.

Rewards

  • Experience
  • Gold
  • Progresses the main story

Tips

  • Don’t panic if your health gets low, Abaddon’s attacks are highly telegraphed.
  • Learning Perfect Parries here will make later bosses much easier.
  • Save your strongest Beta Skills for stagger opportunities.
